Ukrainian forces launched a missile strike against the Alekseevsky Building Materials Plant in Russia’s Belgorod region.
Before the strike, local authorities declared a missile alert across the entire region, according to ASTRA.
According to published footage, part of the plant has been completely destroyed.
This industrial facility in the city of Alekseevka previously specialized in developing deposits and producing natural chalk for industrial use.
Due to financial difficulties, the plant went bankrupt back in 2020. After that, operations were completely halted, and the property and equipment were sold off.
The Russian military could have taken over the plant’s empty premises for their own needs. In particular, the plant’s quarries would be a convenient location to set up a shooting range for firearms training.
According to the Pepel Telegram channel, this is already the second strike on the facility. It was first attacked in early June using drones.
