Ukraine Defense Industry Urges Partner Nations to Purchase Uncontracted Defense Products

Ukrainian defense companies have urged partner countries to purchase defense products that have already been manufactured but have not been contracted by the Ukrainian government.

The National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industries (NAUDI) has stated that it had co-organized a diplomatic meeting as part of the Diplomatic Rounds.

As part of the meeting, representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry had a frank conversation with defense attachés from five countries.

Defense Attachés of the Embassies of France, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Belgium in Ukraine were invited to the meeting.

During the event, they discussed current issues of the defense industry and opportunities to expand cooperation in innovative areas between Ukraine and partner countries.

In his address at the meeting, NAUDI Deputy Chairman Serhii Vysotsky emphasized the critical importance of direct investment in the Ukrainian defense industry, both for the purchase of already produced but not contracted products and for scaling up production.

The defense attachés confirmed that these issues are already under consideration by their governments and promised a response in the near future.

The parties also agreed that cooperation in the defense sector needs to be strengthened, as the current level of interaction remains insufficient.

The main goal of the Ukrainian defense industry representatives at this meeting was to express their wishes and emphasize the prospects for further cooperation with European countries.

In late August, it became known that Ukraine would prepare a concept for controlled exports of weapons from Ukrainian defense companies.

The National Association of Ukrainian Defense Industries (NAUDI) stated that the start of military exports could be a strategic step to strengthen the country’s economy.

NAUDI noted that the export of military products could bring the state up to $2 billion in additional tax revenues in a year and a half.
