UGVs With Grenade Launchers Attack Russian Positions During Operation Vivaldi

Personnel from the NC13 strike UGV unit of the 3rd Army Corps used upgraded kamikaze UGVs equipped with grenade launchers to attack Russian positions during Operation Vivaldi.

The 3rd Army Corps reported this in a Facebook post.

The UGVs were equipped with two Bullspike grenade launchers. They approached Russian positions, fired on them, then continued moving toward enemy shelters and detonated inside them.

The 3rd Army Corps also noted that using such systems made it possible to exert psychological pressure on the enemy and clear individual positions without involving Ukrainian infantry.

According to the military, the operators remotely controlled the UGVs from protected shelters tens of kilometers from the line of contact.

The corps called this method of using UGVs a new tactic that shifts some of the most dangerous tasks during assaults from infantry to robotic platforms.

Militarnyi previously reported that during the second phase of Operation Vivaldi, the 3rd Army Corps began delivering kamikaze UGVs more than 10 kilometers behind enemy lines using heavy bomber drones.

At the time, the Defense Forces liberated Shandryholove and Derylove and established full control over Drobysheve.

As part of the operation, ground robotic systems also cleared about 30 kilometers of routes of mines in the Shandryholove direction.
