U.S. Approves Sale of Three MH-60R Seahawk Helicopters to Denmark

The United States has approved the sale of MH-60R Seahawk multi-mission helicopters and related equipment to Denmark.

The estimated deal value is $425 million, according to the U.S. Department of State website.

The Danish government has requested the purchase of three MH-60R Seahawk multi-mission helicopters.

The request also includes eight integrated satellite and inertial navigation systems (six installed and two spares) and three digital magnetic anomaly detection systems.

The package also includes T700-GE-401D engines, AN/ARC-210 radios, AN/AAR-47 missile approach warning systems (MAWS), and identification friend-or-foe (IFF) systems.

Denmark has also ordered AN/AAS-44C(V) targeting systems, AN/ALQ-210 electronic support measures, and APS-153(V) radars.

The contract also provides for spare parts, training equipment, technical documentation, and logistics support from the U.S. government and contractors.

The main contractors for the deal will be the U.S. companies Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky.

It is worth noting that the Royal Danish Navy already operates MH-60R Seahawk helicopters.

The helicopter has a practical range of approximately 830 km and a service ceiling of up to 3,650 meters.

For combat missions, the helicopter can be armed with Mk.46 and Mk.54 anti-submarine torpedoes, AGM-114 Hellfire guided missiles, as well as 7.62 mm or 12.7 mm machine guns.

Israel reactivated the 193rd “Defenders of the West” Squadron at Palmachim Airbase. The unit received an SH-60F Seahawk naval helicopter.
