A Turkish F-16 fighter jet crashed during a training flight in northwestern Turkey.
Turkey’s Ministry of National Defense reported the crash.
The F-16 pilot ejected and survived the crash. There is currently no information about any other casualties.
The incident occurred in Yalova province, near Istanbul.
The cause of the crash will be determined by an investigation.
As of 2025, Turkey was the largest operator of Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter jets outside the United States, according to open-source information, with approximately 230 F-16s.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the United States had approved the sale to Turkey of the latest version of the F-16 fighter jet, as well as upgrade kits for the country’s existing aircraft of this type.
