The United States is considering a dramatic expansion in the training of Ukrainian troops.

The Administration of U.S. President Joe Biden is considering a dramatic expansion in training the US military provides to Ukrainian forces in Germany.

The initiative would include the training of 2,500 Ukrainian servicemen per month at the US base in Germany.

If adopted, the proposal would mark a significant increase not just in the number of Ukrainians the US would train but also in the type of training they receive.

Under the new program, the US would start training much larger groups of Ukrainian soldiers in more sophisticated battlefield tactics, including the ways to coordinate infantry maneuvers with artillery support.

CNN emphasized that this training program can be “more intensive and comprehensive” than the training that the Armed Forces of Ukraine undergo in Poland or Great Britain.

However, a senior official of the Biden administration declined to comment on the details of a possible expansion of the training program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“We won’t get ahead of decisions that haven’t been made, but we are constantly looking for ways to make sure the Ukrainians have the skills they need to succeed on the battlefield as Ukraine defends their territory from Russian aggression,” he told CNN.

It was also recently reported that the United States has set up a base in Poland to repair Western-made artillery weapons, which are supplied to Ukraine.

The weapons are disabled after months of heavy use or are damaged or destroyed during combat, so dozens of artillery systems would need repair, according to the US and Ukrainian officials.

Repairing artillery in the field is difficult, so the issue of restoring equipment has become a priority for the European Pentagon Command. For these needs, a repair center was established in Poland. Previously unreported artillery repairs have started in recent months.
