The 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine showed how the operation of destroying the bridge that connected the occupied Rubizhne with Sievierodonetsk took place.
Footage of explosives being placed under the railway bridge over the Borova River was released on the Brigade’s website.
According to the soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, servicemen of the SOF and SSU also took part in the operation.
Ukrainian soldiers used a large number of anti-tank mines for controllable detonation of the bridge piers.
“In order to stop the attack of the invasion forces on Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, the bridges on the key connection coming from Rubizhne were blown up. Eliminating bridges helped to protect Kyiv. It will also provide advantages for the defense of the controlled regional center of Luhansk region,” the Brigade’s soldiers wrote.
The railway bridge was blown up on May 15, 2022. It connected the Sievierodonetsk association “Azot” with the railway station “Rubizhne”. Raw materials and other materials were delivered to the plant in this way, and the products of the chemical giant were exported in the opposite direction.
A few days earlier, the road bridge over the Borova River, which is 30 meters from the railway, was destroyed.
This bridge was once destroyed in 2014, then it was rebuilt in 2015.
