The Armed Forces of Ukraine neutralized the Russian T-90M “Proryv” tank

In the South of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the state-of-the-art Russian T-90M “Proryv” tank with high-precision weapons.

Analytical group Ukraine Weapons Tracker announced this on its social networks.

The T-90M “Proryv” tank, equipped with a radar-absorbent material (RAM) camouflage known as Nakidka, was neutralized with artillery fire.

According to the author, the blow was inflicted with M982 Excalibur guided artillery shells.

The tank was discovered by Ukrainian gunners in position with the help of aerial reconnaissance and neutralized with the first hit.

Judging by the direct hit of the 155-mm ammunition and the explosion, the tank was either seriously damaged or completely destroyed.

The absence of a devastating detonation of ammunition, which often accompanies the destruction of Soviet-era tanks, can be explained by the lack of ammunition in the vehicle.

For the first time, it became known about the engagement of Т-90М “Proryv” tank by Russian forces in the Kharkiv region in April.

“Proryv”

The T-90M tank was developed by the Ural Transport Engineering Plant (Uralvagonzavod is part of the Rostec State Corporation).

For Russia, it is a modern vehicle in the T-90 family and the most adapted to actions in the conditions of modern combat, including due to the presence of all-round protection, a new system of automatic fire control and the implementation of measures to increase survivability.

These main battle tanks received a fundamentally new turret, the power and transmission units, the chassis were modernized, and the level of armor resistance was increased. The tank is equipped with spaced armour and Relikt reactive armour.
