Ukrainian drone maker TAF Industries and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), one of Europe’s largest defense groups, have signed a memorandum of intent to establish a joint drone manufacturing facility in Poland.

The agreement was signed during the Ukrainian Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, the company told Militarnyi.

The memorandum was signed by Oleksandr Yakovenko, founder of TAF Industries, and by Adam Leszkiewicz, President of PGZ, along with Jan Grabowski, the group’s Vice President.

The partnership aims to expand production capacity, manufacture drone components, and localize drone production in Poland using the industrial infrastructure of the PGZ Capital Group as part of the Build with Ukraine initiative.

According to Adam Leszkiewicz, Poland is seeking closer cooperation with Ukraine because of its extensive battlefield experience in air defense and countering aerial threats. He said this partnership will help the Polish defense industry gain valuable expertise in drone technologies.

The companies’ overall action plan provides for joint research and development (R&D) projects, as well as mechanisms for joint financing.

In addition, the parties will establish a secure framework for exchanging technical information.

Poland expects to receive drone technologies in exchange for transferring MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.

The proposed transfer involves up to nine aircraft, as announced in December 2025.

At that time, Polish President Karol Nawrocki, during a joint briefing with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Poland was prepared to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets in exchange for counter-drone systems.

TAF Industries is also beginning the transition to a new system that will enable the use of standardized cartridges with a single ground control station for fiber-optic drones.

The process of scaling up and standardizing these solutions is currently underway in two areas: analog and digital.
