Satellite images have confirmed the successful strike on one of the production halls at the Avitek plant in the Russian city of Kirov by an FP-5 Flamingo cruise missile.

The image was published by the Dnipro Osint community.

According to the results of an analysis of the image, the Ukrainian missile blew a hole approximately 21.5 by 24 meters in the roof of the production facility.

In addition, photographs released by eyewitnesses show that the window frames were bent outward by the explosion.

This indicates that a powerful explosion occurred inside the building and caused significant damage to the facility from within, rather than on the roof.

Explosions in the city of Kirov, located more than 1,200 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, were heard around 7:00 a.m. Afterward, local residents observed smoke in the area of the plant and filmed the aftermath of the strike on their smartphones.

According to OSINT Varta, Vyatka Machine-Building Enterprise AVITEK in Kirov is part of the defense industry Almaz-Antey defense industry Concern and specializes in the production of aviation equipment and pilot rescue gear.

The company is the country’s sole mass producer of ejection seats for all types of fighter and attack aircraft, and also anti-aircraft guided missiles, target missiles, and aerial target simulators.

Avitek is subject to international sanctions imposed by the United States, the European Union, Ukraine, Canada, Switzerland, and New Zealand due to its involvement in the production of components for the Russian military-industrial complex.
