Street fighting is ongoing in Sievierodonetsk, the enemy is pushing from the side of Popasna – Serhiy Haidai

Defense of Sievierodonetsk continues. The situation is challenging, but the Ukrainian military retains its positions. Hostilities are ongoing to establish complete control over the city.

Serhiy Haidai, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported on the situation in the city.

He stressed that the enemy is conducting the 24-hour aerial reconnaissance, and with the help of drones, is adjusting artillery fire and quickly adapting to changes.

“Once again, the powerful shelling occurred at the areas near bridges. Twice the hit targeted the Sievierodonetsk “Azot” enterprise – the destruction of facilities was recorded,” Serhiy Haidai said.

The General Staff noted that in the Sievierodonetsk direction, the Russian military is shelling Lysychansk, Borivske, Bila Hora, and Ustynivka. It is conducting air and missile strikes.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine managed to repel the assault in the area of Toshkivka. As of now, the enemy has retreated and is regrouping in the area.

Also, the enemy is conducting assault actions in the direction of Orikhove – Hirske, and hostilities continue in this area.

Invaders were attempting the attack in the areas of Orikhove – Zolote and Pervomaisk – Zolote, however, the Ukrainian military repelled it.

It was previously reported that in the Luhansk region, Russian invasion forces started using Т-62М main combat tanks in the Luhansk Region.

The Т-62 tank with a 115-mm gun was adopted by the Soviet army under the Т-62А “Object 165” designation in 1962. The upgraded version of the Т-62 tank with the 9K116-2 Sheksna system (ATGM – ed.) was designated Т-62М.
