The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) destroyed 12 Russian military aircraft and 3 helicopters over the past year.

According to the SSU, five military airfields were targeted by long-range drones.

Ukrainian drones successfully bypassed Russian air defense systems and targeted airfields in Crimea.

“The enemy had become used to feeling safe in the rear. But for the special forces of the SSU’s ‘Alpha’ unit, distance is no longer an issue,” the SSU stated.

The unique footage confirmed the destruction of:

  • 11 fighter jets and bombers: Su-30SM, Su-34, Su-27, Su-24, MiG-31
  • 3 helicopters: Mi-28, Mi-26, Mi-8
  • 1 transport aircraft: An-26

Along with the equipment, ammunition and fuel depots at the airfields were also destroyed.

The Su-30SM fighter jet and Su-24 bombers were likely hit in January at the Saky airfield in occupied Crimea.

It was reported at the time that, as a result of the operation, the Russian Su-30SM fighter jet was completely destroyed, while another one was damaged.

Additionally, three Su-24 bombers were also struck.

The destroyed An-26 is not the only one in 2025. Several such aircraft were also targeted by drones of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

Three helicopters – Mi-28, Mi-26, and Mi-8 – along with the Pantsir-S1 air defense system, were struck by Ukrainian drones in June at the Kirovske military air base.

In June, two Su-34 fighter-bombers were destroyed at the Marynivka military air base, and two other combat aircraft were damaged.

Two Su-27 aircraft were hit at the Belbek military air base in occupied Crimea in December 2025.
