Soldiers of the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade intercepted and destroyed a Russian Shahed strike UAV using a Shrike FPV drone.
The manufacturer itself informed Militarnyi about the use of the Ukrainian-made 10-inch Shrike FPV drone.
The video shows the FPV drone approaching the aerial target and the moment of its destruction in the sky.
This type of interception demonstrates the transition of short-range air defense to a “drone against drone” format in the fight against Shaheds.
Shrike works as a guided munition with operator guidance, allowing it to accurately hit small and fast-moving targets.
The same type of FPV drone was previously used to destroy a Russian Mi-8 helicopter.
This indicates a wider range of applications for Shrike, which goes beyond just fighting drones.
Intercepting Shahed FPV drones is a much cheaper solution than using anti-aircraft missiles.
For frontline units, this creates the opportunity to autonomously cover the airspace.
Scaling such solutions allows countering against Shaheds to be transferred to a mode of constant tactical interception.
The video confirms that Ukrainian FPV platforms are already performing the functions of air interceptors on the battlefield.
As a reminder, SkyFall, a manufacturing company specializing in the production of Vampire and Shrike strike drones and Shahed interceptor drones, recently became the first resident company of Defence City.
