The Russian defense industry has developed a kamikaze drone called Klin, capable of remaining airborne for over an hour.
Sonyashnyk Telegram channel has reported this news.
According to the report, the drone can autonomously detect and engage targets at ranges up to 120 km when a repeater is used, or operate as an “air minefield” with an endurance of about 80 minutes.
The takeoff weight is 13.5 kg, and the cruise speed ranges from 108 to 300 km/h. Fuselage length is 1.6 m, and the wingspan is 1.9 m. Maximum operating altitude is up to 2 km.
The warhead weighs 5 kg. The UAV is fitted with a blast-type warhead and can carry either a shaped-charge or a high-explosive warhead.
Judging by published photos, some components, including the optical module, appear to be 3D-printed.
The drone’s layout is aerodynamically similar to the Shahed family, a delta, tailless planform, but also includes canard foreplanes. One control surface is mounted on the upper fuselage.
Previously, Militarnyi reported that the Russian Scientific and Production Center for Unmanned Aviation Systems and Robotic Systems (NPTS BASiRTK) has unveiled an interceptor drone.
The interceptor follows a conventional layout for that class: four engines and vertical takeoff. Footage released by the developer shows horizontal flight and hover capability.
The developer did not publish detailed specifications, but claimed that the interceptor is intended for use in a distributed system of heterogeneous robotic systems for monitoring maritime environmental and infrastructure.
