A series of powerful explosions occurred at a military facility near the town of Al-Eis in Aleppo, Syria.
Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh reported the incident on X.
The explosions occurred on the night of September 21 in the al-Hadba area, west of al-Eis, in southern Aleppo Governorate.
Footage released from the scene shows a large fire and numerous secondary detonations.
However, no official information is available on the cause of the initial explosion, and authorities are still investigating.
According to Alikhbariah, emergency responders initially could not reach the site directly because of the prolonged explosions. Later, civil defense units evacuated four injured people. They also began evacuating residents from nearby homes.
Aleppo’s Internal Security Command cut off the Aleppo–Damascus highway and roads leading to the explosion site. Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib urged local residents to stay home and away from the site.
Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management warned the public about the danger posed by debris and unexploded ordnance that may have been scattered around the military facility.
Last July, a large ammunition depot belonging to the Syrian army exploded near the Idlib–Maarrat Misrin highway, injuring more than 145 civilians.
