A new Russian drone powered by a gasoline engine has been spotted on the front line. Its name and technical specifications remain unknown.
Serhii Beskrestnov, known by the callsign “Flash,” an adviser to the President of Ukraine on defense technology reported this.
He noted that the new drone resembles Russia’s Lancet loitering munition in shape but is equipped with a gasoline engine instead.
The published photos capture a fixed-wing drone with an X-shaped wing and tail configuration. Its aft section houses an internal combustion engine with a propeller.
Beskrestnov noted he had already received information about the drone’s name, manufacturer, and specifications, but these details still need to be verified.
The Potuzhnyi Informator Telegram channel suggested that the drone may have been manufactured by Russian TAIP LLC, which produces Phoenix reconnaissance UAVs. The drone’s numbering indicates a possible link to the company.
Militarnyi previously reported that DIU had released technical details of Russia’s Lancet and Scalpel loitering munitions, including their components and manufacturers. Zala Aero Group, part of the Kalashnikov Concern, produces the Lancet.
