Russian National Wanted in Montenegro on Suspicion of Triple Homicide at a Shooting Range

Police in Montenegro are searching for 30-year-old Russian citizen Mikhail Shabunin, who is suspected of murdering three employees at a shooting range near Danilovgrad.

The incident occurred on August 31 at the “Česka Zbrojovka” shooting range in the Danilovgrad area. Police discovered the bodies of three men who worked as instructors at the shooting range.

The victims were 24-year-old Petar Globarević from Podgorica, 67-year-old Momir Radonić from Danilovgrad, and 20-year-old Nemanja Kapor from Podgorica.

According to preliminary reports, Shabunin rented a firearm directly at the shooting range, after which he opened fire on the three employees. The suspect then left the premises with the weapon.

The police consider him armed and dangerous, so they have urged citizens to stay home, avoid contact with strangers, and report any suspicious behavior to law enforcement.

Significant police forces, including Special and Separate Police Units, have been deployed to search for the Russian national. Law enforcement has set up checkpoints in the Danilovgrad area and other settlements.

The police are also analyzing CCTV footage from the shooting range and conducting other investigative measures to determine all the circumstances of the crime.

The shooting range owner notified law enforcement of the discovery of the bodies at approximately 5:00 p.m. Police officers and representatives of the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica arrived at the scene.

Law enforcement officials said they will release a photograph of Shabunin and his identifying characteristics once they have gathered the necessary information.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Helsinki Court of Appeals sentenced Russian citizen Yan Petrovsky, also known as Vojislav Torden, to 12.5 years in prison for three war crimes committed in eastern Ukraine in 2014.

The court found that Petrovsky was a member of the “Rusich” Special Forces Group and participated in an ambush against Ukrainian servicemen.
