Russia has reported the death of a senior colonel from Russia’s Ministry of Defense in the war against Ukraine.
The OSINT project KIU (Russian Officers Killed in Ukraine) reported his death.
The officer was Colonel Andrey Vladimirovich Krestyansky, who served as a senior instructor and inspector in the inspection department of the Center for Training Senior Commanders of formations of the Russian Defense Ministry.
His death was confirmed on the website of the Marksovsky Municipal District of the Russia’s Saratov region.
The district authorities said Krestyansky is to be buried on September 9.
The announcement said the colonel had taken part in the war of aggression against Ukraine and died while performing his military duties.
The date and place of his death were not reported. The project believes that Krestyansky may have been killed in a Ukrainian Air Force strike on a command post in temporarily occupied Donetsk on August 26.
Ukraine’s General Staff said the targets of a series of missile strikes were the main and alternate command posts of Russian forces operating in the area.
Earlier, the KIU project reported that a Russian lieutenant colonel had been killed in the same strikes. He served as a senior officer in the Operations Directorate of the headquarters of Russia’s 41st Guards Combined Arms Army.
