Russian invaders launched another missile attack on Ukraine.

On January 26, the enemy deployed 55 air-launched missiles from Tu-95, Su-35, and MiG-31К aircraft, and from the Black Sea.

Valerii Zaluzhny, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this.

He also emphasized that the enemy used Kh-101, Kh-555, Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, Kalibr, and Х-59 missiles.

“The air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 47 cruise missiles, 20 of them in the area of ​the capital. In addition, three out of the four Kh-59 guided aircraft missiles did not reach their targets,” the report said.

Kh-47M2 Kinzhal is a Russian hypersonic aviation missile. In terms of dimensions and appearance, the Kinzhal missile is similar to the Iskander short-range ballistic missiles. The maximum speed of the missile is 10 M. MiG-31К is capable of carrying one such missile and hitting targets at a distance of up to 2000 km. Also, Tu-22М3 strategic bomber jets can carry these missiles.

It is emphasized that Russian MiG-31К fighter jets are currently based in Belarus and are regularly performing tasks. This is evidenced by the information reported by the “Belarus Gayun” monitoring group.

During a missile attack on the territory of Ukraine, one of these jets was spotted in the air together with the А-50U AEW&C of the Russian Federation Aerospace Force.

There is currently no information on missiles launched from Belarus.

Also, the night before, the Russian Federation attacked the territory of Ukraine with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. The Air Force reported that the enemy used 24 drones.

“All 24 drones were destroyed by anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force, in cooperation with air defense units of other branches of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the statement said.

Consequences of a missile attack

As of now, the hit of Russian missiles in Vinnytsia was reported. There were no casualties.

Additionally, the fall of the downed missile part in the Holosiyiv district of Kyiv was recorded.

Mayor Vitaliy Klytschko announced the hit of a non-residential building. The explosion killed a 55-year-old man. There are also wounded, who have been hospitalized.

Explosions were also reported in the Dnipro district of the capital.

The Kyiv City Military Administration stated that the city’s infrastructure facilities are operating normally.
