Russia’s defense industry has delivered a new batch of upgraded BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles to the Russian military.

High-Precision Systems holding company of Rostec announced this. All new vehicles are equipped with electronic warfare systems.

Rostec said it is seeking to increase BMP-3 production volumes.

The footage captures about 12 BMP-3 vehicles, although the Russian side has not disclosed the exact number of vehicles delivered.

The combat vehicles are being upgraded based on experience gained from the war in Ukraine. For example, this year, their bottom protection against mine blasts was reinforced, as well as the anti-fragmentation protection of the rear and front sections.

The BMP-3 can carry up to seven dismounts in addition to its three crew members. The vehicle’s maximum road speed is 70 km/h. Its main armament is a twin-gun turret system consisting of a 100 mm 2A70 gun-launcher and a 30 mm 2A72 automatic cannon, along with a coaxial 7.62 mm PKT machine gun.

Earlier this year, Militarnyi reported on deliveries by the High-Precision Systems holding company.
