Russian troops have begun deploying a new variant of the Gerbera UAV, equipped with a more powerful engine.

This was reported and accompanied by photos posted by Ihor Shkilnyi (Zampotech Omelianovych) on his Facebook page.

According to available data, the upgraded drone has been fitted with a powerplant consisting of half an engine from the Shahed/Geran-2 attack UAV, corresponding to a displacement of approximately 275 cm³.

This is likely due to the large number of engines produced for the Shahed drone.

According to preliminary information, production of these engines for Russian drones is being carried out at Izhevsk Motor Plant.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian military observed an unusual configuration of a Russian multi-purpose Gerbera UAV, which was towing an FPV drone on a rope or cable.

It is not yet known for what purpose this setup is being used, as there is already a configuration of this UAV capable of carrying an FPV drone on a suspension under its fuselage.
