The Russian military is forming a separate unit of the Black Sea Fleet in the Sea of Azov with headquarters in occupied Mariupol of the Donetsk region.

According to the Center for National Resistance, the creation of the so-called Azov Naval District and the relocation of the Russian fleet’s ships are scheduled to be completed by July 1.

The invaders plan to equip this group at the expense of the Black Sea Fleet ships and the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy.

In total, 8 warships and boats, along with 16 support vessels, will be part of the Azov Naval District.

Its establishment takes place within the formation of new units and the increase in staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In particular, according to the Center of National Resistance, the Azov Navy will include: Tsiklon, currently undergoing tests Askold small missile ships, and the currently under construction Amur ship.

These ships carry Kalibr naval cruise missiles. The total missile salvo of three small missile ships is 24 missiles.

Also, the sea minesweeper Kovrovets and other ships will be part of the naval district of the Russian fleet in the Sea of Azov.

The Russians are setting up the headquarters of the Azov Naval District in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol.

This year, the Russian armed forces will complete the formation of two new military districts, Moscow and Leningrad, along with the combined and air military.

According to Colonel-General Yevgeny Burdynsky, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, the decision was made due to the increase in military potential near the Russian borders, as well as NATO expansion to the east.

Russia has also announced an increase in the number of armed forces from 1.25 million to 1.5 million.
