Oleksiy Chadayev, Director General of the Ushkuynik Research and Production Center, announced the modernization of the main Russian fiber-optic FPV drone Prince Vandal (or Prince Vandal of Novgorod).
According to him, after the upgrade, the drone was used as an “FPV reaper” to hit targets in the rear, according to the Telegram channel War Engineering.
The key changes include an increase in the range to 50-65 km thanks to new coils.
An electronic target sensor has also been added, which allows the drone to be detonated both remotely from the operator’s console and in direct contact with the object.
Vandal’s production volume is about 50,000 units per month.
These FPV drones are characterized by excellent image quality, signal stability, and its preservation until the target is hit.
In addition, it cannot be detected by UAV detectors due to the lack of radio control and video transmission signals.
