The Pentagon has announced the place and time of a new meeting of еру Defense Ministers to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
Lloyd Austin, U.S. Secretary of Defense, made this announcement, UNN reports.
Following the meeting of the Contact Group for Assistance to Ukraine on Monday, May 23, it was reported that the next meeting of defense ministers will take place on June 15 in Brussels.
This was stated by the Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin after attending a meeting with representatives of over 40 countries.
“This time, we will meet in person on June 15 to hold a NATO Defense Ministerial meeting in Brussels,” the minister said.
The Pentagon chief added that “this will not be a NATO event.”
As previously reported, a virtual meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Ukraine Contact Group occurred yesterday. This is the second meeting following the contact group live discussion at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
This time, the 40 participants were joined by other countries – Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Ireland, and Kosovo.
Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian Defense Minister, along with Deputy Commander in Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces and Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence representative joined the virtual meeting.
The latest meeting was split into three sessions. Session one was focused on updated information about current hostilities. Session two involved discussing military supplies to Ukraine. Session three was dedicated to Ukraine’s priority needs.
Lloyd Austin, US Secretary of Defense announced that Denmark would be handing over the Harpoon anti-ship missiles and launchers for them to Ukraine.
As previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expected that at the online meeting of Defense Ministers of over 40 countries, a decision to transfer multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine would be made.
