Quantum-Systems Localizes Vector Fuselage Production in Ukraine

The German company Quantum-Systems has localized the production of fuselages for Vector drones at its facility in Ukraine.

The company representatives shared this information with Militarnyi during the European Defense Tech Hackathon, which took place on May 22–25 in Lviv.

Previously, drone assembly had already been taking place in Ukraine, and two facilities are currently operational: an R&D center for drone development and a maintenance division.

Back in February, it was announced that the company planned to double drone production in Ukraine.

“We already have full-scale production of 100% of all fuselage components, which are manufactured here in Ukraine,” said Dmytro Horlin, Chief Technology Officer at Quantum-Systems Ukraine.

Responding to a question about the differences in localized components, he clarified that they fully matched the original dimensions and manufacturing technology, but Ukrainian expertise had made it possible to improve certain parameters.

“In a positive sense, it’s the strength of the materials — in Ukraine, we managed to achieve better results in this area, and also make them lighter,” he added.

The aircraft produced in Ukraine has been made approximately 250 grams lighter.

“This weight reduction gives us the ability to add something else in its place,” said a Quantum-Systems representative.

The company is already testing new payloads, such as acoustic sensors and AI modules with more powerful processors for data processing. The camera will be capable of 360-degree rotation, and other new features are being introduced. Visual navigation has also been added for both day and night operations.

Ukraine currently operates the largest fleet of the Vector drones from Quantum-Systems, and their use in real combat conditions—combined with ongoing improvements—is encouraging more and more countries to place orders.

For example, it is known that Australia, Romania, Spain, and the United States have ordered them, while in several other countries, the drones are participating in tender processes.
