At the DIMDEX international defense exhibition in Doha, Thales announced the signing of a contract with the Qatar Air Force.

The agreement provides for the supply of Ground Master 400 Alpha and Ground Master 200 MM/A radars, according to opex360.

The contract amount and the exact number of systems ordered have not been disclosed.

The Ground Master 400 Alpha radar, an upgraded version of the Ground Master 400, features five times more data processing power, a range of over 515 km, and the use of artificial intelligence algorithms.

The GM200 MM/A model is based on new-generation 4D AESA technology. It is capable of simultaneously detecting and tracking targets within a radius of up to 350 km, including small and maneuverable threats, such as drones.

Both systems will be integrated into the SDIP digital platform, allowing the Qatari military to combine all non-US sensors into a single air system.

The contract also covers a maintenance and combat readiness support program until 2036.
