Polish radar stations have again detected balloons entering the country’s airspace from Belarus.

This was reported on Sunday by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, according to Defence24.

The command stated that on the night of January 31 to February 1, the Belarusian side attempted to conduct reconnaissance and test the response of Polish air defense systems, which detected objects similar to balloons.

“The flights of the objects were monitored by military radar systems and did not pose a threat to the security of Polish airspace,” the Operational Command said.

As noted, the Army Operational Command maintains constant contact with the relevant services and continuously exchanges the collected data on the objects under observation.

These are not the first such incidents in January. On the night of January 28, airborne objects entered Poland from Belarus, which were then partially identified as contraband balloons.

The armed forces of Poland and Lithuania have recorded a sharp increase in the activity of small drones and balloons launched from Belarusian territory.
