Ukraine received the first Leopard 2A4 tanks that were repaired at the facilities of the Polish company Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa.

This was reported by the press service of the enterprise on its social media page.

The equipment that was sent for maintenance to Poland previously was damaged or destroyed during the offensive operation in the South of Ukraine.

“While others make declarations about the future, we act in cooperation with the Ukrainian part. The first Leopard tanks, specially repaired in Bumar-Łabędy, were received by the Ukrainian part, work on other tanks continues,” reads the message under the photo of recovered equipment.

For more than a year, Polish defense industry workers have been operating in the field near the line of contact, where they help the Ukrainian military with the repair and maintenance of Western weapons.

In particular, the photos published below show the work of Polish specialists on the Leopard 2A4 tank knocked out in battle and the study of breakdowns on the Krab self-propelled guns transferred by Poland.

“The Krab self-propelled guns are repaired by our mechanics in direct contact with the front line,” said Sebastian Hvalek, director of PGZ.

Polish specialists also trained more than a hundred Ukrainian soldiers so that they could independently perform basic repair and maintenance work.

The deployment of a service center for servicing Western armored vehicles in Poland faced several conflicts between the organizers – German arms companies Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Polish Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ).

Due to this, the opening of the service center for the damaged Ukrainian Leopard 2 was postponed from May until the end of July.

In addition, as part of the signed agreement between Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa and the Ukrainian concern Ukrokronprom, the Polish defense industry mastered the repair of Soviet armored vehicles.

In particular, in April, at the Polish armored plant, Bumar-Łabędy began work on repairing Т-64 tanks.
