The United States has delivered a “significant number” of Switchblade kamikaze drones to Ukraine.

John Kirby, U.S. Department of Defense Spokesman, announced the transfer of loitering munition during a briefing on April 12.

He reminded that Pentagon had previously informed about a package of military aid bound for Kyiv containing 100 Switchblade kamikaze drones.

So far, the Agency Spokesman stated that “a significant number of these Switchblades are already in Ukraine.”

“It won’t be long before the rest arrive in the country,” Kirby added.

The briefing revealed that the delivery of an $800 million military aid package to Kyiv is almost complete, as per the US Department of Defense Spokesman.

The Pentagon spokesman also did not rule out additional supplies of Switchblade drones to Ukraine in the future.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that it is a Switchblade 600 which will be delivered to Ukraine as part of assistance.

The Ukrainian servicemen were trained to use these drones in the United States.

Switchblade is a product of the American company AeroVironment. According to the open data, there are two versions of this innovative ammunition: Switchblade 300 and Switchblade 600.
