OpenAI to Provide Ukraine With Daybreak Cyber Defense Tool

OpenAI will provide the Ukrainian government with its AI-powered Daybreak cybersecurity system at no cost.

According to the BBC, the system is designed to help protect civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and power plants, from cyberattacks.

Daybreak can quickly identify vulnerabilities in digital systems and help develop ways to fix them.

The system provides an autonomous security lifecycle covering asset inventory, detection, validation, assignment, remediation, and outcome verification.

Under the agreement, Ukraine will also gain access to OpenAI’s advanced GPT-5.6 Sol model.

OpenAI GPT-5.6 Sol is the flagship and most powerful model in the family, designed for complex professional work, programming, research, science, and cybersecurity.

George Osborne, former Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom and now head of OpenAI’s government affairs division, said: “Protecting civilian infrastructure means protecting it from both physical and digital attacks so that people can continue to live, work, and access the essential services they need.”
