On the Front Lines, Average Lifespan of Mavic Drone is One Week — Instructor with 93rd Brigade

The average operational lifespan of a DJI Mavic reconnaissance drone on the front lines is approximately 7 days.

This was reported by ‘Dobryi,’ a Mavic UAV pilot-instructor of the ‘Black Raven’ unmanned systems battalion of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade ‘Kholodnyi Yar’ in an interview with Militarnyi.

“If a drone lasts a week—that’s already great, that’s already good; it’s already done what it was designed to do,” the guest said.

Also, due to the suspension of Mavic 3 production, the front lines are primarily using so-called ‘Frankensteins’—drones assembled from parts of several donor units.

“Right now, most of the work involves ‘Frankensteins’—that is, drones assembled from two or three different ones,” ‘Dobryi’ said.

In particular, this also reduces the quality of the product and shortens its lifespan on the front lines.

As a reminder, the Chinese manufacturer DJI has already begun production of its new Mavic 4 lineup.
