NVIDIA has announced an expansion of its investment activities in Europe, adding German space startup Reflex Aerospace to its portfolio.

The U.S. company announced the new investment.

Berlin-based Reflex Aerospace, founded in 2021, positions itself as a developer and manufacturer of high-performance satellites.

The startup’s key innovation is optimizing manufacturing processes, allowing it to prepare spacecraft for launch in about 12 months rather than the several years typical in the space industry.

The company builds satellites using a modular approach, combining ready-made units that can be easily adapted to any customer’s requirements. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, it reduces development costs and significantly speeds up spacecraft launches into orbit.

As it was previously reported, Reflex Aerospace and U.S. company Umbra plan to develop a reconnaissance satellite for European customers.

The satellite is expected to use synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology for radar reconnaissance.
