On the night of Friday, May 17, explosions and fires broke out in the Russian city of Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai.

There is a naval base of the Black Sea Fleet of the aggressor state.

The UAV attack is reported by Russian Telegram channels, as well as propaganda media.

Footage of overnight explosions appeared online, showing flares in the sky and fires.

Eyewitnesses claim that the explosions in the Russian city began at three in the morning and sounded until almost 4 in the morning.

In the area of the city, the Russian air defense operated. Local residents counted more than 30 explosions.

Authorities in Krasnodar Krai said the region was under attack by Ukrainian drones. And it is said that allegedly all the drones had been shot down.

However, it is known that a fire broke out in the city at an oil depot near the railway station. Locals publish relevant videos on social media.

Also at night, explosions also occurred in the port of Novorossiysk, which is the main Russian trading port on the Black Sea and the naval base of the Russian Navy.

As a result of the attack, as of the morning, the port was completely black-out. Electricity also disappeared in areas of the city and public transport did not work. Some streets were closed off.

As previously reported, at night on May 14 in the Volgograd region of Russia a freight train derailed and caught fire, which, in particular, carried fuel. Russian telegram channels report that a drone attack was a possible cause of the incident.

The accident occurred at about 1 a.m. local time in the area of the Kotluban station, which is located in the village of Samofalovka, Gorodishchensky district.
