Norway Joins Ukraine’s Drone Deal Cooperation

Ukraine and Norway have signed a defense cooperation agreement under the Drone Deal format.

The agreement was signed during the Ukraine–Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) summit, which took place in Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of such agreements, noting that similar deals should be concluded “with every country in Europe.”

During the summit, a number of countries announced new packages of humanitarian and military aid for Ukraine.

In addition, the parties separately agreed on the amount of support for Ukraine for the coming year.

Other details of the agreement have not been disclosed at this time. Earlier, on July 7, it was reported that Kyiv had signed similar agreements with Denmark and the Netherlands.

Drone Deal

Drone Deal is a multi-year international cooperation program initiated by Ukraine, aimed at comprehensive collaboration in the field of security and defense.

It brings together Ukraine’s combat experience, the development of supply chains, and cooperation in the defense industry.

The Drone Deal may include a number of projects, the scope of which will depend on the specific needs of the partners.

These may include the development of air defense, scaling up drone technologies, implementing training programs, and joint defense-industrial production.

The ten-year agreement framework makes it possible to build a partnership that is both flexible and stable. Such arrangements provide a foundation for sustainable funding of joint projects.

The cooperation takes place in stages: from identifying the partner’s needs to developing specific solutions, preparing and signing agreements, and determining priority projects and areas of cooperation.
