The SA-35 self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery system was presented during the MSPO 2024 defense industry exhibition in Poland.

Militarnyi reports on this.

The exhibition was launched today in the Polish city of Kielce.

The presented anti-aircraft system was developed by PIT-RADWAR, a part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa SA (PGZ).

The self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery system is based on a 35mm automatic cannon with the ability to fire programmable shells.

According to the developers, SA-35 is a universal air defense solution effective against a wide range of air threats.

The system is designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, and drones.

The chassis of a Polish JELCZ 6×6 truck with an armored cab ensures the system’s high mobility, including off-road. The chassis was integrated not only with the gun turret but also with its stabilization system.

The SA-35 has a modern optoelectronic station, ZGS-35, to detect and track air targets. In the future, it will be able to use the latest Polish TUGA X-band radar, performing early detection and targeting tasks.

The developers emphasize that by using relatively inexpensive programmable 35mm shells compared to the cost of anti-aircraft missiles, the SA-35 can be effective against small kamikaze drones, which are not so expensive.

The system can operate in automatic mode or under operator control when necessary.

The SA-35 can be used to protect strategic facilities, military bases, and troop concentrations in the field.
