Netherlands to Allocate Over €3 Billion in Military Aid to Ukraine in 2027

The Netherlands plans to allocate more than €3 billion in military support to Ukraine in 2027.

The Dutch Ministry of Defense announced this while presenting next year’s defense budget.

Key areas of assistance include maintaining and repairing previously delivered weapons systems, as well as providing drones and air defense systems.

The ministry noted that amid intensifying Russian attacks, continued military support for Ukraine remains critically important.

The Ministry of Defense’s total budget for 2027 is expected to amount to approximately €28.9 billion.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands will continue to strengthen its own defense capabilities. Around €14.1 billion is planned to be allocated in 2027 for the procurement and maintenance of military equipment, innovation, and defense infrastructure.

In particular, the country will invest in air and missile defense, counter-drone capabilities, ammunition, and increasing military stockpiles.

Previously, the Dutch government set a target of maintaining military support for Ukraine at around €3 billion annually in 2027–2029.

In 2026, the government also allocated around €3 billion for military assistance to Ukraine. In particular, in June, the country allocated €500 million to purchase drones and air defense systems for Ukraine.

Following the April 15 meeting in the Ramstein format, Ukraine received €248 million from the Netherlands for drones.
