“Tonight, the Ministers of Defense of the Allied Countries will announce the allocation of new military assistance to Ukraine, including heavy weapons and long-range artillery,” Stoltenberg said.
According to him, NATO is also preparing a plan for the complete transition of the Ukrainian army from post-Soviet weapons to the Alliance’s weapons standards.
Today, the third meeting in the “Ramstein format” on military support of Ukraine will occur.
At the new meeting of Defense Ministers and Heads of General Staffs of different countries, the plan is to discuss the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in armaments and ammunition to confront the Russian full-scale aggression.
Representatives of over 40 countries will gather for the meeting.
The meeting will be held at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
Ukraine had also received an invitation to participate in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of Defense Ministers, which will be held in Brussels on June 15-16.
On May 23, an online meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine of Defense Ministers took place. This was the second session after the initial meeting at the Ramstein base in Germany.
Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, Ireland, and Kosovo joined the other 40 participating countries at this time.
