During the night missile attack, the Ground Force mobile anti-aircraft (AA) fire team destroyed an enemy cruise missile with Browning M2 machine gun fire.

This was reported by the press service of the Ground Forces of Ukraine.

It is reported that this unit has already downed more than one cruise missile.

Such AA fire teams recently received 79 pickups from the Come Back Alive Foundation and Ukrnafta company.

The Foundation reported that it has invested UAH 70 million in providing mobile AA fire teams with equipment.

New vehicles, according to Come Back Alive, provide speed and mobility crucial for the safety of Ukrainian defenders and civilians. ⁣

The 79 pickups provided support to anti-aircraft battalions stationed in Sumy, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, and Chernihiv.

Militarnyi also reported that the Ukrainian company Archer presented a thermal sight equipped with a duplicate channel for displaying an image to the operator’s monocular.

The manufacturer noted that the sights with an additional channel are well adapted for anti-aircraft fire against air targets by mobile AA fire teams.

Thermal imaging optics are important for mobile groups, since almost all Russian attacks by night drones occur in the dark, when they are difficult to detect.

Currently, the majority of Ukrainian mobile anti-aircraft fire teams equipped with rifle weapons are searching for targets in the night sky using powerful spotlights and thermal imagers.

The latter requires direct visual contact from the shooter with the optical device, which is inconvenient when transferring fire from side to side.
