The German government has disclosed details of an additional €400 million military aid package to Ukraine.

The relevant message was published on the website of the German government.

On September 18, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the additional aid package.

Most of the aid consists of artillery ammunition and mines, namely:

  • 30,000 155-mm artillery shells;
  • about 3,800 155mm smoke projectiles;
  • 105,000 120mm HE, smoke and illuminating mortar rounds;
  • 480 AT-2 anti-tank mines.

Germany is helping counter mass mining by providing mine clearance vehicles, armored engineering vehicles, and armored recovery vehicles.

To this end, Germany is providing 200 MRAP armored fighting vehicles that will allow sappers to safely approach Russian minefields.

In addition, winter gear, spare parts packages for already delivered systems, and vehicles will be delivered to strengthen the resilience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the coming months.

The already delivered mobile field hospital will also serve this purpose.

Germany will also provide 50 surface drones of an unknown type.

Some projects will be implemented through donations from Bundeswehr stockpiles and in cooperation with industrial partners. The promised equipment should be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible.

Germany intends to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense in the future, for example, with Gepard anti-aircraft guns and Iris-T medium-range air defense systems.
