Militech Group Launched Production of Composite Parts for Ukraine’s Defense Industry

Militech Group has launched specialized contract manufacturing of composite products for Ukrainian defense companies.

Representatives of the company told Militarnyi about this.

The company notes that establishing in-house production for each individual component requires significant investment, specialized equipment, and a team of experts.

Therefore, Militech Group is developing a contract manufacturing model that enables small teams with their own technologies to create and scale complex products without having to build a complete production cycle.

Militech Group manufactures composite fuselages and other structural components based on the customer’s technical specifications.

The company handles process preparation, production, and delivery of finished products, while the customer can focus on research and development, engineering, and refining their own product.

Composite products most often use fiberglass, carbon fiber, and other fiber-reinforced polymer materials.

The main advantage of composites is the combination of low weight and high strength. This is particularly important for drones: a lighter airframe can mean greater payload, range, or flight duration.

This technology is not new to Ukraine. In 2019, Motor Sich manufactured helicopters made of composite materials.

Collaboration between companies

According to the company, this model of collaboration is particularly relevant for young teams specializing in the development of unmanned systems.

Specialization makes it possible to shorten the path from prototype to mass production without having to expand one’s own manufacturing infrastructure. As a result, developers can direct more engineering resources toward creating and improving technologies for the Ukrainian military.

“The Ukrainian defense-tech sector is gradually shifting from a ‘everyone does everything on their own’ model to one of cooperation. Developers have more resources to work on creating technological breakthroughs, while delegating the production of individual components to specialized partners,” noted Vasyl Polishchuk, a representative of Militech Group.
