In Colombia, a Mi-17 transport helicopter of the Colombian Aerospace Force crashed during a training flight.

This was reported on the official Twitter page of the Ministry of Defense of Colombia.

During a training exercise to transport personnel, a Mi-17-1V helicopter began to lose control and crashed in a village near Anori, Antioquia.

As a result of the accident, five soldiers and two civilians were injured and hospitalized.

The helicopter crashed into a residential building with two civilians inside it at the time of the crash.

The Colombian army aviation uses a total of 22 Mi-17 helicopters in the 1V, MD and V-5 versions, which are used by mobile units and air assault units.

This is already the second case of military equipment crashing in Colombia this month. Thus, on October 3, 2023, a T-90S trainer aircraft fell into a corkscrew during a training flight and crashed.

Two pilots were killed in the crash. In addition, according to eyewitnesses, the fuel tank exploded after the plane crashed, leaving the pilots with no chance of survival.

As Militarnyi previously reported, on July 3, 2023, two trainer aircraft collided in Colombia during training flights over the Apiay air base.

During training flights, two T-27 Tucano aircraft of the Colombian Aerospace Force collided in the air over the Apiay air base in Villavicencio.

The training flights were a rehearsal for the air part of the opening of the international aviation exhibition.

According to official sources of the Colombian Aerospace Force, one of the pilots was killed.
