HORNET strike drones destroyed a Russian Mi-8 helicopter dozens of kilometers from the front line, in the Luhansk region.

The successful combat operation was carried out by the SKYFOM strike drone platoon from the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

During a raid on enemy logistics, a crew operating HORNET strike UAVs detected the Russian Mi-8 and flew out to intercept it.

The Russian crew was forced to change course.

The helicopter’s cruising speed exceeded that of the strike drones. However, as soon as the Russian helicopter landed, Ukrainian fighters struck it in the area of the fuel tanks.

A second HORNET drone also successfully struck the helicopter.

As a result of the attack, the military helicopter, which the Russian Federation’s army uses to transport personnel and cargo, conduct evacuations, and provide fire support, was completely destroyed by fire.

According to analysts at CyberBoroshno, the helicopter was struck near the village of Tarasivka in the Luhansk region.
