The Pentagon has awarded a $500 million contract to Scale AI, a company backed by Meta.

This was announced by Dan Tadross, who heads the company’s government sector, according to Bloomberg.

The Defense Department will use Scale AI’s artificial intelligence technologies for automated analysis of large data sets and to aid in decision-making.

The new agreement represents a fivefold increase in funding compared to the previous $100 million contract the company received in September 2025.

San Francisco-based Scale AI is also participating in the Defense Innovation Unit’s AI integration program.

In addition, the developer is involved in creating the Golden Dome national defense architecture. Last year, Meta acquired a 49% stake in the company.

Earlier in May, the Pentagon also signed agreements with Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon, and Reflection AI. These contracts pertain to expanding the use of advanced AI systems within classified US military networks.
