Ukrainian rapper and blogger Albert Vasilyev, known as Kyivstoner, may have been the target of an assassination plot orchestrated by Russian intelligence services in Poland.

This was reported by the Polish media outlet RMF FM, citing its own sources.

Earlier, it was reported that a Russian national recruited by Russian intelligence services was detained on August 7, thwarting an assassination attempt on a U.S. and Ukrainian citizen in Warsaw.

The identity of the potential victim was not disclosed, but Tusk clarified that this person was targeted because they posed a threat to Putin’s regime.

And today, August 14, RMF FM reported that the individual in question may be Albert Vasilyev.

The FSB accused Vasilyev of allegedly organizing the logistics for delivering drones to the Moscow region.

According to the FSB, the drones were transported through Slovakia, Poland, and Belarus for subsequent attacks on strategic facilities near Moscow. Thirty-five FPV drones for these operations were delivered to Russia disguised as a shipment of Spanish ceramic tiles via a route through Slovakia, Poland, and Belarus. The FSB also claimed that the drones were to be launched from a rented hangar near the facility.

Following this, Russian authorities added the musician to a list of individuals they consider to be involved in terrorist and extremist activities.

This may have been one of the reasons why Russian intelligence agencies viewed him as a target, particularly in light of preparations for a new operation based on the scenario of Operation Spiderweb.

Vasilyev himself denied all these allegations.

The suspect was detained in Warsaw by police officers in cooperation with the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW).

According to RMF FM, the suspect was born in Ukraine, although Poland’s Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, Tomasz Semoniak, stated that the detainee was of Russian origin.

Albert Vasilyev rose to fame as a blogger and later became one of the founders of the Ukrainian band Hryby. After leaving the band, he continued his musical career under the pseudonym Kyivstoner.

At the same time, Polish law enforcement agencies have not officially named the person who may have been the target of the planned assassination. Therefore, the information that it was Kyivstoner is currently based on reports from Polish media outlets citing their own sources.
