The Khyzhak Brigade of the Ukrainian Special Police Forces has been armed with the Bohdana self-propelled howitzers.

Relevant photos were recently published on the brigade’s Facebook account.

This brigade is intended to participate in combat operations against Russian invaders as part of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to the published photos, the brigade’s artillerymen are already using the Ukrainian-made 155mm self-propelled artillery system on the front line.

Ukrainian-made NATO-caliber self-propelled artillery systems are being supplied to various units of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, whose soldiers are participating in repelling the Russian invasion.

The 18th Sloviansk Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine has taken delivery of Ukrainian-made Bohdana 155mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers.

A batch of Ukrainian-made 155mm howitzers has also been received by, among others, the 55th ‘Zaporozhian Sich’ Separate Artillery Brigade.

According to a statement from a representative of the manufacturing plant to journalists, the price of one Bohdana self-propelled howitzer is approximately €2.8 million.

Meanwhile, he confirmed that production had reached “20 or more” units per month.

Later, a spokesperson for the Logistics Forces Command clarified that the price of one Bohdana self-propelled artillery system ranged from €2.3 to €2.8 million. The price likely depends on which specific chassis is used for the particular self-propelled artillery system.

Ukraine’s 47th Separate Artillery Brigade has received its first towed Bohdana-B 155mm howitzer, a domestically produced artillery system. The Bohdana-B prototype was first publicly presented at the end of 2024, though development has been underway since at least December 2023.

Currently, Bohdana-B uses a carriage from the Soviet-era Giatsint-B gun. This was due to the need for a rapid development of a towed version of the Ukrainian-made 155mm howitzer. However, by the end of 2025, it will receive a new carriage.
