The Israeli government has offered to help Ukraine develop an missile strikes early warning system.
Benny Gantz, Israeli Defense Minister, made this claim in his public speech to the group of EU ambassadors.
Benny Gantz also stated that Israel would not supply weapons to Ukraine to resist the Russian invasion.
“Our policy vis-a-vis Ukraine will not change — we will continue to support and stand with the West, we will not provide weapon systems. We have asked the Ukrainians to share information regarding their needs, and offered to assist in developing a life-saving early-warning system,” Ganz said.
Israel’s early warning system uses a combination of radar and electro-optical devices to detect missile, projectile and drone launches.
It also gives a classification of their sizes and the threat they pose, mapping areas at risk.
Citizens receive warnings through sirens, notifications on their phones, and messages on TV and radio.
“We are monitoring Iran’s participation in the war in Ukraine. We see that Iran is providing UAVs and may provide additional advanced systems in the near future,” Gantz said.
In recent weeks, Ukrainian cities have been repeatedly attacked by Iranian-made drones and other missiles launched by Russia.
As previously reported, on October 17, Russia massively attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.
