The Israeli company IAI has unveiled the new Ellyon electronic warfare and reconnaissance aircraft.
This was reported by the manufacturer.
The system, developed by the ELTA Systems division, combines electronic warfare with electronic intelligence, synthetic aperture radar and moving target detection, electro-optical sensors, and broadband satellite communications into a comprehensive concept aimed at dominating the electromagnetic spectrum.
The demonstrated system is based on the Bombardier Global 6500 business jet, although IAI emphasizes that the solution is platform-agnostic and can be integrated into other business jets.
The AI-based technology includes a multi-purpose control system that processes information from onboard sensors, generates analytical insights, and transmits them in real time via satellite communications to command centers, ground control stations, and additional aerial platforms.
“The platform represents a technological leap forward, combining remote operations with the ability to detect, analyze, and shape the electromagnetic battlefield,” said Dror Bar, CEO of IAI subsidiary Elta Systems and executive vice president of IAI.
The system has so far been demonstrated through renderings and models, as its unveiling coincided with the start of the Farnborough 2026 Airshow.
The new aircraft configuration was announced alongside another platform from the company — Hypnosis — a counter-navigation system designed to combat UAVs.
On August 8, Israel successfully tested an upgraded version of the Arrow missile defense system, which IAI helped develop.
