Iran demonstrated a new ballistic missile with a 2,000 kilometers launch range.

On Thursday, May 25, Iranian state media published footage featuring its launch.

It is reported that the tests of the new missile have been successful.

It is a new-generation medium-range ballistic missile and a further development of the Khorramshahr missile. It was named Khorramshahr-4, also called Khaibar.

Iranian media claim that the missile, much like its basic version, has a maximum range of 2,000 km, while the weight of the warhead is 1,500 kg.

It is also stated that the new version of the missile is characterized by the presence of a guidance and control system in the middle section of the flight.

This Iranian missile is powered by liquid rocket fuel.

The Khorramshahr-4 (Khaibar) is claimed to have an advanced engine and can stay fueled for many years. Therefore, it can be prepared for launch in a very short time.

Iran’s Khorramshahr medium-range liquid-fuel ballistic missile was tested in January 2017. The declared flight range is up to 2,000 km with a warhead weighing 1.5 tons.

The Khorramshahr missile is reported to have a length of 13 m, a diameter of 1.5 m, and a weight of 20 tons.

Previously, the Iranian military was testing the new Me’raj-532 kamikaze drone. It can hit targets at a distance of 450 km.

This drone is equipped with a piston engine, has an operating height of 3.6 km, and can stay in the air for up to 3 hours.
