The Security Service of Ukraine detained a resident of Odesa, who was in communication with the “headquarters” of Wagner PMC and scouted the location of coastal defense units.
The SSU`s press service reported this.
The man was noticed due to his social media activity.
He was collecting data on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Odesa. First of all, the detainee was interested in coastal defense units.
He was also collecting data on the approximate number of personnel, weapons, and military equipment.
The invaders were using this information for targeted missile attacks on urban infrastructure.
To collect information, the man personally went out to the area, observed the objects, and took photos.
The obtained data was sent to the enemy in the form of tags on electronic maps with a description of the adjacent territory.
The man’s communication with the headquarters of Wagner PMC and the Moscow police special unit was recorded.
Currently, investigators of the Security Service have informed the detainee of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 “High treason committed under martial law” of the Crime Code.
The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
Previously, the SSU discovered and neutralized a group that was operating in the Donetsk region and collecting information about the movement of Ukrainian units in Bakhmut and Toretsk.
