The Defense Forces have started using heavy bomber drones to transport kamikaze UGVs and attack Russian positions.
A video showing this use was published on the Russian invaders’ Telegram channel, “Archangel of Special Forces.”
Judging by the video, a large Ukrainian hexacopter is transporting a small UGV using a cable. According to the Russians, this allows Ukrainian forces to increase the range of UGVs while protecting the bomb-carrying drones from fire from Russian positions.
The video reportedly shows an ARK-1 unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) equipped with TM-series anti-tank mines being transported.
The operation of the ARK-1 UGV, developed by one of the companies participating in Brave1, was announced in June 2024 through a post by then-Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov.
This is a compact, nearly silent, all-wheel-drive ground-based robotic platform that the military can use for various tasks.
The platform can reach speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour and deliver ammunition, medicine, and provisions. In addition, it can be used in kamikaze mode.
